ALIG’ART 2012 THE MANNER OF SANKARA – CAGLIARI – GHETTO – 19 TO 28 OCTOBER

The Festival, now in its third edition, will be dedicated to the statesman Burkinabè Thomas Sankara was assassinated in 1987. Starting from the reflections on the actions and his famous speeches, the Festival will explore the difficult issue of change of a social and economic system through a program to achieve a critical awareness and responsible. By recognizing the undeniable richness of the territory, the body of knowledge and traditional knowledge of the region of Sardinia, combined with low population density, it aims to identify the keys to a possible improvement of the quality of life. He also believes that these issues should be addressed with clarity and depth of an extensive project.

The words of Sankara in fact offer the starting point for developing a project aimed at socio-cultural redemption and enhancement of local identities, the sustainable management of material and intellectual resources, against the impoverishment of knowledge and the loss of individual creative abilities. The environmental, social, revaluation of traditional practices, protection of indigenous products and the drive for local consumption in the four years of government pursued Sankara, coincide with some of the key points of the current proposals for change: the virtuous practices promoted by government sighted, the movement for the decrease, the transition towns, which, in this view, are one of the possible examples of innovation, including technological, starting from the correct evaluation of an old tradition.

This year the Festival offers the public a variety of activities, which will be unveiled in the coming weeks.
