Ritorna l’appuntamento con il reggae di fama internazionale.
Dall’1 al 4 agosto 2013 il Sardinia reggae festival apre le porte di Cargeghe agli amanti del genere musicale dalle radici caraibiche.

Dopo Banari, Nulvi e Platamona, protagoniste delle scorse edizioni, l’evento organizzato dall’associazione culturale Sardinian reggae, ritorna a una dimensione paesana, graditissima agli ospiti della manifestazione.

Artisti come Don Carlos, Israel Vibration, Capleton, Yt e gruppi italiani come i Mellow Mood, si alterneranno sul palco presente nel campo sportivo del paese, con altre band della scena locale tra cui gli Arawak, Arrokibi e Mama Vibe.

Il Sardinia reggae festival rappresenta un appuntamento imperdibile che dalla prima edizione ha attratto migliaia di giovani provenienti dai paesi europei e dalla penisola. L’obbiettivo della manifestazione è creare un ponte virtuale tra la cultura giamaicana, quella dei propri emigrati in Inghilterra e quella sarda. Tra le novità di questa edizione un importantissimo “roots corner” con un impianto autocostruito, del tutto sardo, dove si alterneranno ai controlli decine di “sound” provenienti da tutta Italia. L’appuntamento è quindi per il 1 agosto e sono già tantissimi i giovani che da ogni parte d’Europa hanno prenotato il loro abbonamento. Oltre alla musica, gli ospiti, godranno di spettacoli correlati, spazi per i bambini e una area ristoro attrezzata per ogni genere di esigenza. ARTISTI. Il cantante giamaicano Don Carlos, classe 1952, rappresenta in maniera esemplare l’esperienza degli anni Settanta. Fondatore dei Black Uhuru, è con i suoi 33 album all’attivo è uno degli artisti più prolifici e ricercati del genere. Gli Israel Vibration, una delle band di spicco della scena reggae mondiale. I membri, conosciutisi in un centro di riabilitazione di Kingston, in seguito a un epidemia di poliomielite, hanno iniziato a suonare insieme e a incidere hit leggendarie come “The same song” e “We a de rasta”. Chiude il cerchio dei big, Capleton, uno dei re della scena moderna, che porta in giro per il mondo uno spettacolo ricco di energia. Ai big già citati, si aggiungono artisti di altrettanta fama come Mad Professor, Jahcoustix, Solo Banton, Sound Trooper e Iration Steppas. Si esibiranno anche gli italiani Mellow Mood e una schiera di grandi realtà locali come  Arawak, Momar Gaye, Arrokibi, Mama Vibe, Dr. Boost e molti altri che rappresentano passato e futuro della scena sarda, in continua evoluzione. Come ogni anno verranno ospitati i vincitori del “Rototom european contest”, selezione di gruppi reggae emergenti di portata mondiale, che quest’anno vede come vincitori gli inglesi “Dubheart”.The appointment with the internationally renowned reggae.
