WORLD RALLY CHAMPIONSHIP 2013 – OLBIA – 19-20 GIUGNOWORLD RALLY CHAMPIONSHIP 2013 – OLBIA – JUNE 19 TO 20

La Sardegna rappresenterà per la decima volta l’Italia al mondiale di Rally 2013. La tappa in terra sarda, quest’anno, durerà solo due giorni: il 19 giugno ci sarà lo stage di qualificazione (per stabilire l’ordine di partenza) e il 20 ci sarà la prima prova speciale. La sede di svolgimento della corsa sarà Olbia (Costa Smeralda).

Descrizione della gara:

Le strade sono veloci e strette, il terreno è un misto di tratti ondulati che si snodano attraverso boschi, guadi d’acqua e salti spettacolari! Di norma, la superficie è dura ma tende a cedere generando degli avvallamenti dopo i primi passaggi.

Dopo le prove libere e la fase di qualificazione, come detto, giovedi 20 gli equipaggi affronteranno, a differenza dell’anno scorso, solo la fase di qualificazione seguita da una cerimonia di partenza dalla città di Sassari.

La competizione vera e propria partirà quindi venerdì da Olbia e comprenderà un trittico di prove speciali. Successivamente, ci si dirigerà verso Castelsardo (nella costa settentrionale della Sardegna) per altre tre tappe prima di tornare al parco assistenza di Olbia. Gli equipaggi partiranno poi per altre due prove, l’ultima delle quali notturna, comincerà alle 21:30 circa.

La gara di Sabato nella zona del Monte Acuto e della Gallura. Gli equipaggi affronteranno quattro tappe al mattino che si ripeteranno nel pomeriggio. La prima delle prove del pomeriggio, la 19,31 km del Monte Olia, è la tappa più importante  in cui saranno assegnati i punti bonus del campionato mondiale. La manifestazione chiuderà il sabato stesso con la premiazione nella bellissima località di Porto Cervo.

Sardinia will, for the tenth time in Italy in the World Rally 2013. The stage in Sardinia, this year, will last only two days, June 19 there will be the stage of qualification (to determine the starting order) and 20 will be the first special stage. The place of performance of the race will Olbia (Costa Smeralda).

Description of the race:

The roads are fast and narrow, the terrain is a mixture of undulating trails through the woods, wading water and spectacular jumps! As a rule, the surface is hard but tends to yield generating the depressions after the first passages.

After free practice and qualifying, as mentioned, Thursday 20 crews face, unlike last year, only the qualification phase followed by a ceremonial departure from the city of Sassari.

The actual competition will start from Friday to Olbia and will include a trio of special stages. Next, we will head towards Castelsardo (on the north coast of Sardinia) for another three stages before returning to the service park in Olbia. Crews will start then the other two tests, the last of which night, will begin at approximately 21:30.

The race on Saturday in the Monte Acute and Gallura. Crews face four stages in the morning that will be repeated in the afternoon. The first tests of the afternoon, the 19.31 kilometers of Monte Olia is the most important step that will be awarded bonus points in the world championship. The event will close on Saturday with the same award in the beautiful resort of Porto Cervo.
