Il lavoro fotografico di Francesca Randi è incentrato sul concetto di Realismo Fantastico e Perturbante. Attraverso le sue immagini trovano espressione le proiezioni inconsce, le rimozioni, i desideri e le aspirazioni. Il realismo fantastico rappresenta una forma di protesta ostinata, di presa di posizione con mezzi estremi contro la precarietà del reale. Il perturbante, ciò che porta angoscia, è un non-familiare, qualcosa che assomiglia al nostro ambiente domestico ma che in realtà cela in sé un che di straniero, sconosciuto, enigmatico. “Tutto ciò che pensavamo fosse rimosso dalla nostra coscienza, complessi infantili, convinzioni personali o pregiudizi, riemerge creando una condizione instabile alla nostra identità e in genere uno stato di angoscia” (Freud 1919). Il risultato finale è una rappresentazione artistica che ha del reale quanto dell’onirico. Una sorta di limbo fantastico dove elementi quotidiani, oggetti e luoghi si mescolano a visioni strappate alla dimensione del sogno e del subconscio, con scene dal fascino evocativo e figure umane ambigue.

L’artista durante la mostra presenterà anche le sue ultime creazioni di Urban Toys in vinile.

Francesca Randi nel 1999 incontra il mezzo fotografico e ne resta folgorata. Sviluppa uno stile personale, onirico, con un immaginario fortemente surreale. L’identità, l’infanzia e l’adolescenza, il paesaggio notturno in bilico tra l’incubo quotidiano e la solitudine esistenziale, il doppio, la wunderkammer e il perturbante: sono alcuni dei temi affrontati da Randi. Attualmente vive e lavora a Cagliari come fotografa e collabora con alcune gallerie d’arte italiane ed estere.

The photographic work of Francesca Randi focuses on the concept of Fantastic Realism and uncanny. Through her images express some of the unconscious projections, removals, desires and aspirations. The Fantastic Realism is a form of protest stubborn stance of with extreme measures against the precariousness of reality. The uncanny, which brings anguish, is a non-family, something that resembles our home environment but actually conceals something foreign, unknown, enigmatic. “Everything we thought was removed from our consciousness, infantile complexes, beliefs or prejudices, emerges, creating an unstable condition to our identity and gender in a state of anxiety” (Freud 1919). The end result is an artistic representation of the real as that of dreams. A sort of limbo where fantastic everyday elements, objects and places are mixed with visions snatched the dimension of dreams and the subconscious, with scenes from the evocative charm and ambiguous human figures.

The artist during the exhibition will also present his latest creations of Urban Vinyl Toys.

Francesca Randi in 1999 meets the photographic medium and it is struck. Develops a personal style, dream, with a strong surreal imagery. The identity, childhood and adolescence, night landscape in the balance between the daily nightmare and the existential loneliness, the double, the Wunderkammer and the Uncanny: these are some of the issues addressed by Randi. He currently lives and works in Cagliari as a photographer and collaborates with several Italian and foreign art galleries.
