Martedì 23 luglio alle ore 21,00 il via al Festival Internazionale Jazz in SArdegna. Alle 21,00 apre Elsa Martin, vincitrice del Premio Parodi 2012 e subito dopo il concerto inaugurale “S’Ard -la musica dei danzatori delle stelle” guidato da Mauro Palmas

Mancano pochi giorni all’avvio della 31° edizione del Festival Jazz in Sardegna. Martedì 23 luglio 2013 nella nuovissima Arena del Parco della Musica di Cagliari si terrà l’inaugurazione della 31° edizione del Festival Internazionale Jazz in Sardegna. Alle 21,00 salirà sul palco Elsa Martin, vincitrice della 5° edizione del Premio Parodi. La giovane cantautrice friulana ha trionfato lo scorso anno nel prestigioso palco sbaragliando gli avversari aggiudicandosi anche il Premio della Critica, la menzione per la Miglior Musica, e il premio assegnatole dai bambini in sala.

Subito dopo aprirà ufficialmente i battenti dell’European Jazz Expo il concerto dal vivo “S’Ard – la musica dei danzatori delle stelle” guidato da Mauro Palmas: la forza e la vitalità della musica sarda e mediterranea abbracciano quelle partenopee e della Sicilia, in un intimo e magico incontro di voci e suoni. L’ingresso per la prima serata è gratuito

Sul palco un cast di musicisti straordinari. La zampogna e il friscaletto, strumenti tipici della tradizione popolare dell’Italia del sud, suonati magistralmente dal maestro Pietro Cernuto (Sicilia), si aggiungono all’intensità dei profondi legni (liuto cantabile e mandola) di Mauro Palmas, ai suoni jazz e alla voce della tradizione campana nel ritmo ancestrale dei tamburi del sassofonista e compositore Enzo Avitabile, alla singolarissima forza espressiva della voce di Nando Citarella (Campania) e di Elena Ledda, instancabile ambasciatrice dell’isola nel mondo; e ancora special guests dalla Sardegna: Francesco Pilu, cantante dei “Cordas e Cannas”, uno dei gruppi storici della world music sarda, eclettico polistrumentista tra le più belle voci del panorama musicale Mediterraneo; il Coro a Tenore San Gavino di Oniferi, voci gutturali potenti che conferiscono al coro un timbro inconfondibile e di grande fascino che lo ha reso famoso in tutta la Sardegna; Mario Brai, artista carlofortino i cui brani sono caratterizzati dall’uso della lingua tabarkina; Francesca Corrias, vocalist tra le più apprezzate nell’isola.

Con Mauro Palmas sul palco inoltre il collaudato quartetto che vede oltre alle sue mandole, Marcello Peghin alle chitarre, Silvano Lobina al basso, Andrea Ruggeri alla batteria, il sassofonista umbro David Brutti, sempre alla ricerca di nuovi linguaggi musicali e gli Archaea String Quartet.

Un live dedicato a Rodolfo Roberti, grande regista romano scomparso di recente che ha raccontato attraverso i suoi filmati trent’anni di grandi concerti di Jazz in Sardegna.

Il giorno dopo, mercoledì 24 luglio triplo live: alle 20.00 sul palco di Villa Muscas (ingresso gratuito) Luca Aquino, trombettista tra i più interessanti talenti italiani, che presenterà in duo insieme a Carmine Ioanna alla fisarmonica il suo nuovo lavoro “aQustico”, quinta incisione a nome del giovane trombettista beneventano la cui generosità, curiosità e versatilità artistiche confermano la freschezza e l’originalità dei suoi lavori pubblicati.

Subito dopo doppio concerto imperdibile al Parco della Musica (ingresso a pagamento): alle 21.00 Hiromi, la giovane pianista e compositrice pluripremiata giapponese che ha incantato il pubblico e la critica mondiale con il suo album di debutto del 2003, Another Mind (Telarc). Con la sua ultima uscita discografica Move (2012) arriva a Cagliari con The Trio Project: Anthony Jackson al basso e alla batteria Simon Phillips, due musicisti formidabili. Alle 21,00 The Brecker Brother Reunion, la storica band funk e jazz-fusion guidata da Randy Brecker (Philadelphia), virtuoso della tromba e compositore tra i più apprezzati nella scena jazzistica mondiale che ha plasmato il suono del jazz, del R&B e del rock per più di quattro decenni.

Gli unici spettacoli con ingresso a pagamento saranno quelli del 24, 25 e 26 al Parco della Musica,  mentre quello inaugurale del 23 al Parco della Musica e quelli previsti a Villa Muscas saranno ad ingresso gratuito.

Abbonamento per le tre giornate: 40.00€ (Ersu); 45.00€ (Carta Giovani) e 50.00€ per (Intero). Il costo del biglietto singolo (giornaliero) invece è di 25.00 €.

Just a few days the start of the 31 th edition of the Festival Jazz in Sardinia. Tuesday, July 23, 2013 in the brand new Arena Parco della Musica in Cagliari will be the inauguration of the 31 th edition of the International Festival of Jazz in Sardinia. Will take the stage at 21.00 Elsa Martin, winner of the 5th edition of the Parodi. On stage a cast of excellent musicians. The bagpipe and the friscaletto, typical instruments of the folk tradition of southern Italy, played masterfully by the master Peter Cernuto (Sicily), are added to the intensity of the deep woods (lute and mandolin cantabile) by Mauro Palmas, to the sounds of jazz and voice of tradition bell in the ancestral rhythm of the drums of the saxophonist and composer Enzo Avitabile, the singular power of expression of the voice of Nando Citarella (Campania) and Elena Ledda, a tireless ambassador of the island in the world, and even special guests from Sardinia: Francesco Pilu , lead singer of “Cordas and Cannas”, one of the historical groups of world music Sardinian eclectic multi-instrumentalist of the most beautiful voices in the music scene Mediterranean region and the Choir of Oniferi a Tenore San Gavino, powerful guttural voices that give the choir an unmistakable timbre and of great charm that made him famous throughout the island; Mario Brai, carlofortino artist whose songs are characterized by the use of the language tabarkino; Francesca Corrias, vocalist among the most popular on the island.

The only shows with entrance fee will be those of 24, 25 and 26 at the Music Park, while the inaugural 23 to Parco della Musica and those expected at Villa Muscas will be free admission.

Subscription for the three days: € 40.00 (Ersu) € 45.00 (Youth Card) and € 50.00 for (Integer). The cost of a single ticket (daily) is instead of € 25.00.
