Bio

SALMO (Maurizio Pisciottu, classe 1984) è un pionieristico artista sardo ormai di stanza a Milano, dove vive e lavora insieme alla sua crew, il collettivo Machete, in una factory warholiana che è casa e studio insieme, animata da rapper, produttori, grafici e videomakers.
Da Olbia a Milano, dall’ambiente metal, punk-rock e hardcore dell’Isola, in un solo anno SALMO si è preso la scena rap italiana (oltre 26 milioni di visualizzazioni -dati marzo 2013- sul suo canale YouTube ufficiale) e ne ha cambiato i connotati di genere, introducendovi elementi di elettronica e rap hardcore come qui in Italia ancora non si era visto, tutto istintivamente.

Nel 2011, dopo un’incessante attività live cominciata 13 anni prima, Salmo produce il primo disco solista “The Island Chainshaw Massacre” in cui si mischiano sonorità elettroniche e rap anni ’90, tratto distintivo e rivoluzionario per il panorama rap italiano.

Lo stesso anno si trasferisce a Milano con la sua Machete crew e, a inizi 2012, in una sola settimana darà vita -per Tanta Roba, l’etichetta indipendente di Guè Pequeno e Dj Harsh- all’album della svolta: “Death USB”: subito primo in classifica su iTunes nella settimana di Sanremo. Salmo diventa l’artista più cliccato, in testa ai big della musica italiana e internazionale. Si aggiudica anche un MTV Music Awards come Best Crossover.
Persino Jovanotti si accorge della portata rivoluzionaria dell’arte di Salmo e ne esprime il suo apprezzamento su twitter: “Questo Death Usb di Salmo mi piace, c’è vita nella musica italiana”.

Il 2 Aprile 2013 è uscito, sempre per Tanta Roba Label, il nuovo disco “Midnite” (slang per “Mezzanotte”, l’ora zero della nostra epoca infernale), una bomba di 13 tracce il cui primo singolo estratto è “Russell Crowe” (Produzione di Cyberpunkers). Midnite ha raggiunto, dopo una settimana dall’uscita, il primo posto tra gli album più venduti in Italia.

Bio

PSALM (Maurizio Pisciottu, born in 1984) is a pioneering Sardinian artist now based in Milan, where he lives and works with his crew, the collective Machete, in a Warhol factory that is home and study together, inspired by rappers, producers, graphics and video makers.
From Olbia to Milan, from the metal, punk-rock and hardcore island, in a single year PSALM has taken the rap scene Italian (over 26 million views-data in March 2013 – on his official YouTube channel) and it has changed the face of gender, to introduce elements of electronics and hardcore rap like here in Italy had not yet seen, everything instinctively.

In 2011, after a relentless live performances began 13 years earlier, Psalm produces the first solo album “The Island Chainshaw Massacre” in which are mixed electronic sounds and rap 90s, distinctive and revolutionary for the Italian rap scene.

The same year he moved to Milan with his Machete crew and, in early 2012, in just one week to give life-Tanta Roba, the independent label Guè Pequeno and Dj Harsh-album of the change: “Death USB” : immediately ranked first on iTunes during the week of Sanremo. Psalm becomes the artist most clicked, at the head of the big Italian and international music. It also won an MTV Music Awards as Best Crossover.
Jovanotti even notice the revolutionary art of Psalm and expresses his appreciation on twitter: “This Death Usb Ps I love, there is life in the Italian music.”

The April 2, 2013 was released, again to Tanta Roba Label, the new album “Midnite” (slang for “Midnight,” the zero hour of our time infernal), a bomb of 13 tracks whose first single is “Russell Crowe “(Production of Cyberpunkers). Midnite reached after a week of release, the first place among the best-selling albums in Italy.
