Un libro che parla di jazz, si legge con un sottofondo di musiche, di trombe e sax, di chitarre e flauti di legno, di armoniche a bocca e pianoforti, batterie, percussioni e contrabbassi, voci che imitano e rincorrono gli strumenti. Ma è anche un libro, come altri che trattano di jazz, che richiama alla mente immagini e luoghi, campi di cotone, quartieri poveri e malfamati…

Luigi Cancedda, socio fondatore e dirigente di Equilibri, ha costruito una storia del jazz, non cronologica né sociologica o sociopolitica, ma scegliendo un punto di vista: i suoi protagonisti, le loro vite difficili e spesso tragiche, le loro musiche, i loro dischi.
