POETS FESTIVAL -SENEGHE – 6 TO 9 SEPTEMBER

The shadow of Montiferru, doors that open onto gardens and fruit trees, poems covering the stone walls and streets: this is Seneghe, a country of two thousand inhabitants in the province of Oristano, and this is where writers and musicians s’ meet every year. In September, when the umbrella is closed and tourists leave, when the farmer prepares the ground for the winter, when the sun gives a truce and let them celebrate a new beginning, a new year lay before the year restart, the Cabudanne de Sos Poetas.

Cabudanne is the word that in Sardinian indicates the ninth month of the year, the month that the inhabitants of Seneghe marked in red on the calendar: the poets arrive in September, invited by the artistic director Flavio Soriga and Mario Cubeddu, president of Lose soñadora , and squares are filled with stories. Tales from every part of Italy and the world, in the intimate atmosphere of the festival, they end up look similar to the local ones. Or even, often, experience and verses, told in first person, have delicate shades and new tracks of reading on broad and universal. Will interact with the public, this year, Bobo Rondelli, Livorno songwriter, actor and author of arrangements for the film (it is entirely dedicated to him the documentary “The man who had hit his head” by Paolo Virzi) and David Riondino, he songwriter and actor, as well as writer and theater director, conductor, together with Stefano Bollani, of “Dr. Djembé” on Radio Three (author also of the now rare “Tango of Miracles”, disco, became cult for fans , with illustrations by Milo Manara).

Back some friends of the festival, like the Milanese poet Franco Loi, for two years an honorary citizen of Seneghe, and new guests arrive, among them Lorenzo Pavolini, writer, finalist at Strega Prize in 2010 with “Next to the tiger” (Fandango) and author , winner of radiodocumentari and transmissions for Radio Three (including Centolire, Zaza and High Voice), and Giuliana Sgrena, a journalist and writer, in 2003 awarded with the title of Knight of the Republic and the victim, in 2005, a kidnapping, lasted a month, by the Iraqi insurgency. Just Sgrena, and because the festival aims to offer an original and never abused the things of the world, will be among the speakers, along with historian Luciano Marrocu and journalist and Tg1 Giuseppe Solinas, a debate centered on the poetry of countries in conflict. The most daring and creative side of reality of which we are accustomed to see only the images almost the worst, such as Iraq and Africa, will be shown by Jabbar Yassin Husin, intellectual, writer and youth political agitator, a few years back in Baghdad after a long stay in France (where, among other things, was the promoter of the Poetry Festival of Poitiers), and the young poet Algerian Samira Negrouche: thirty, doctor with a passion for literature and the mixing of the different forms of ‘art (theater, cinema, photography, visual arts) and favorite student of the poet Djamel Amrani.

If a lot of attention will be paid to the Arab culture, thanks to the presence, among the interviewers, university professor Abdul Karim Dahmash, there will be, on the face of international guests, the European voices: among them, that of Juan Carlos Marset, professor of aesthetics University of Seville and one of the most influential poet of the Spanish scene today. Issue, that of the Cabudanne this year, which places heavy emphasis on testing and quality: both in the choice of topics as in the guest room. Quality care, of course, the most purely musical context. Relevant past years, the offer is even doubled. There will be James Senese, saxophonist Neapolitan among the members of supergroup formed, among others, Pino Daniele, Tullio De Piscopo and Tony Esposito, Arturo Stalteri, pianist and composer, as well as a music critic and host of several programs on Radio Rai, Giampaolo happy, frontman of the folk Ardecore Roman, and Conrad Nuccini and Jukka Reverberi, guitars and vocals of Giardini di Miro, training Emilia impression indie-rock. Do not miss the promotion and meeting with local groups, with a choice that connects ideally, from north to south, the entire region come from Sassari Lux, engaged in one of the traditional readings of Goodnight, and Cagliari Lele Pittoni and Francis Bachis of Ratapignata, which tell stories of bidda nosta in key rap.
