Grande serata di fusion il 17 ottobre a Cagliari: di scena al Teatro delle Saline il trio HBC, sigla sotto cui si riconoscono nomi noti e cari ai cultori del jazz elettrico: il chitarrista Scott Henderson, il bassista Jeff Berlin e il batterista Dennis Chambers.

Un eccezionale sodalizio artistico, dunque, nato in occasione di un tour nel 2009 (ma i tre avevano già avuto modo di incrociare i loro strumenti in precedenza, provenendo tutti dal mondo del jazz/rock) e che trova il suo punto di forza nell’intesa profonda e nel coinvolgente interplay tra i suoi membri.

Giusto un anno fa, a ottobre, HBC ha firmato il suo album d’esordio, un disco che riflette bene le influenze e lo spirito del trio: il repertorio comprende cover di Wayne Shorter, Herbie Hancock, Billy Cobham e brani originali, dove l’energia trascinante di Scott Henderson si fonde perfettamente con la musicalità di Jeff Berlin e di Dennis Chambers.

An exceptional artistic partnership, then, was born during a tour in 2009 (but the three had already had occasion to cross their instruments before, all coming from the world of jazz / rock) and that finds its strength in ‘deep understanding and engaging in the interplay between its members.

Just a year ago, in October, HBC signed his debut album, a record that reflects well the influences and the spirit of the trio’s repertoire includes cover of Wayne Shorter, Herbie Hancock, Billy Cobham and original songs, where the ‘energy enthralling of Scott Henderson blends perfectly with the music of Jeff Berlin and Dennis Chambers.
