EXCURSION TO THE ISLAND OF ST.PETER AND CARLOFORTE -20 MAY

The environmental organization Friends of the Earth has organized for May 20, 2012 a nice trip to the Island of St. Peter and Carlisle. A chance to admire the sixth largest island of Italy bathed by a clear sea is still one of the most pristine places in the Mediterranean. Our itinerary will consist of the land of Carlisle to Cape sandals, extreme western tip of the island, through scenically important places such as Salt with Pink Flamingos, the Beach of Bobba, the natural monument of Columns, the Gulf of Mezzaluna, the Caves of the sea, the beach of the Cove, Cala Fico, then returned to Carlisle with its brightly colored houses, right corner of Liguria transplanted in Sardinia. After an excellent lunch of fish in a small local restaurants, the route will continue to explore other places to learn the secrets of ancient crafts, such as tuna, which have made Carlisle flourished in the second half of the nineteenth century.

6.45 am: Meeting in the street Cocco Ortu (opposite Market St. Benedict and Deutsche Bank) and departure by bus at 7.00 for Portovesme. Arrival at the port and board the ferry to the Island of San Pietro. Arrival at Carlisle and then by coach to the tour including the Ponte delle Saline, Fort St. Victor, the Astronomical Observatory, the Saline State with the Flamingos, the Beach of Bobba, The Columns, the Crescent Bay, Caves, the beach of the Cove, Cala Fico, Chief sandal with the Lighthouse. In the afternoon, visits the island of St. Peter and Carlisle with an itinerary dedicated to fish for tuna and tuna (tabarkina Cabin, Red Mark, Sing Hens, Loc La Punta, panoramic view, Isola Piana, the Port of Carlisle.
