EAST OF MADONNA OF SHIPWRECK – VILLASIMIUS – 13 TO 15 JULY

The July 13 to 15, to remember the unfortunate sailors missing in the zone of Capo Carbonara and invoke the protection of those who come by sea, the statue of the Madonna is celebrated with a special mass at the Port. The next day a procession of boats covered with flowers went to the Island of Cavoli, where in 1979 a statue of the Virgin was laid on the seabed to protect sailors.

A procession of boats went to the Island of Cavoli where, on the bottom front of the submerged statue, a prayer is recited underwater. Both Saturday and Sunday the feast shows complete with songs, dances and tasting of typical products.
