Da novembre 2013 a Cagliari c’è un nuovo metodo di consegnare merci: è  Bicycle Xpress, il primo servizio di pony express su due ruote a Cagliari.

Fanno parte della squadra di Bicycle Xpress sei ragazzi: uno di essi si occupa di gestire le chiamate e le mail ed organizzare le consegne, che vengono poi effettuate dai suoi colleghi.
Il parco mezzi comprende una bici cargo con un carrello anteriore che può caricare merci fino a 100kg, più altre tre biciclette provviste di portapacchi posteriori, che consentono di effettuare consegne in tempi rapidi in tutta la città di Cagliari e nel suo hinterland.

I ragazzi che lavorano con loro sono studenti che nel tempo liberano guadagnano e allo stesso tempo si allenano.

I punti di forza sono la velocità delle consegne, il fatto di essere assolutamente ecologici e, non meno importante, molto più economici rispetto ai tradizionali corrieri motorizzati.  Preferiscono infatti sfrecciare su strada tra le automobili, piuttosto che sulle piste ciclabili.

Il  servizio si rivolge sia ai privati che alle aziende, agli esercizi commerciali ed ai ristoranti (per il servizio take-away). Da circa due settimane inoltre hanno attivato il servizio di consegna dal Mercato Civico di San Benedetto; chi volesse fare acquisti ma è impossibilitato a recarsi al mercato, può tranquillamente ordinare la spesa al telefono ed avere la comodità di vedersela consegnare direttamente a casa.
