APPUNTAMENTO CON L’ARTE IN BIBLIOTECA – MEM – CAGLIARI – 8 MAGGIO – 14 LUGLIOAPPOINTMENT WITH ART IN LIBRARY – MEM – CAGLIARI – MAY 8 TO JULY 14

Appuntamenti in biblioteca con l’Arte partirà l’8 maggio presso la Mediateca del Mediterraneo. L’iniziativa è organizzata dall’associazione culturale Hermaea Archeologia e Arte che propone una rassegna di mostre con tre differenti esposizioni. Aprirà con la personale di Michele Greco, sarà visitabile dall’8 al 18 maggio. Ad essa seguiranno le esposizioni di Lino Fois, dal 12 al 23 giugno ed Alessandro Sau, dal 3 al 14 luglio.

Si ripete l’ormai consolidata collaborazione tra l’associazione ed il centro polivalente di Cagliari che, come nei precedenti progetti, seguono un binario comune: far parlare arte e cultura dentro le quiete mura bibliotecarie.

E sono proprio i colori delle tele di Michele Greco le prime a parlare, un artista completo che con assoluta disinvoltura passa dalla pittura alla scultura, da una tecnica all’altra utilizzando colori ad olio, acrilici, smalti fino ad arrivare al legno, metallo, resine e cartoni. Il suo lavoro pittorico riformula e richiama alcune linee della tradizione delle avanguardie storiche della prima astrazione del ‘900, da Klee a Kandinskij, fino ad una tradizione figurativa italiana degli anni ’20 e ’40, da Carrà a Campigli, da Sassu a Fiume, all’ informale degli anni ’50. Un’arte nuova, il trionfo del cromatismo, dove si incontrano figurativo e geometrico, arte contemporanea ed antica dove la tela, fondamentale luogo di studio dei colori dell’artista, diventa la culla del mondo occidentale ed orientale fondendosi in un’opera di assoluta originalità.

Greco nasce a Crotone nel 1966, sin da giovane manifesta un particolare interesse e talento per l’arte. A vent’anni lascia la Calabria e si trasferisce a Roma per dedicarsi interamente al suo percorso artistico. Nel 1994 a Parigi allestisce un suo studio al 41 di Quai de la Gare. Viaggia tanto trovando ispirazione a Zurigo, Milano, Francoforte, Colonia, fino ad arrivare a San Pantaleo, in Sardegna, dove attualmente vive.

La mostra sarà visitabile dall’8 al 18 maggio negli orari di apertura della Mediateca del Mediterraneo, in Via Mameli 164 dal martedì al sabato, dalle ore 9:00 alle 20:00.

L’Iniziativa “Appuntamenti in biblioteca con l’arte” proseguirà con le successive esposizioni di Lino Fois ed Alessandro Sau. E’ un progetto organizzato dall’Associazione Culturale Hermaea Archeologia e Arte. Un particolare ringraziamento va alla Mediateca del Mediterraneo di Cagliari per aver messo a disposizione ospitalità e competenza.

Appointments in the library with Art will start on May 8 at the Mediatheque of the Mediterranean. The event is organized by the cultural Hermaea Archaeology and Art which offers an overview of exhibitions with three different exposures. Open with the staff of Michael Greek, will be open from 8 to 18 May. It will follow the exhibition Lino Fois, June 12 to 23 and Alexander Sau, July 3 to 14.

It repeats the well-established collaboration between the association and the multi-purpose center of Cagliari, as in previous projects, followed by a binary common to talk about art and culture in the quiet library walls.

And it is the colors of the paintings by Michele Greek the first to speak, a complete artist who with absolute ease switch from painting to sculpture, from one technique to another using oil paints, acrylics, enamels up to the wood, metal, resins and cartons. His pictorial work reformulates and draws some lines of the tradition of the avant-gardes of the first abstraction of 900, by Klee, Kandinsky, up to an Italian figurative tradition of the ’20s and ’40s, by Carrà Campigli, Sassu in Rijeka, to ‘informal 50s. A new art, the triumph of chromatism, where they meet the figurative and geometric, contemporary art and antique where the canvas, the fundamental place of study of the colors of the artist, became the cradle of the western and eastern merging into a work of absolute originality.

Greek born in Crotone in 1966, as a young man manifests a particular interest and talent for art. At twenty he left Calabria and moved to Rome to devote himself entirely to his artistic career. In 1994 in Paris sets up his own studio at 41 Quai de la Gare. Travel time finding inspiration in Zurich, Milan, Frankfurt, Cologne, until you get to San Pantaleo, Sardinia, where he currently lives.

The exhibition will be open from 8 to 18 May in the opening hours of the Media in the Mediterranean, in Via Mameli 164 from Tuesday to Saturday, from 9:00 to 20:00.
