A novant’anni dalla prima edizione del manifesto del surrealismo di André Breton, la scuola di fotografia dell’Associazione culturale S’umbra ha dedicato il corso all’approfondimento teorico, al pensiero, agli esercizi di stile, alle tecniche e al vissuto surrealista.
Una volta acquisite le basi teoriche sulla storia della fotografia e il linguaggio fotografico, e dopo essersi dedicati alla pratica di ripresa e allo sviluppo e stampa in camera oscura, gli allievi hanno sperimentato il collage, la scrittura automatica, i racconti di sogni, i rayogrammi, les promenades surrealistes, e il perdersi nella città, proponendo alla fine di questo percorso il progetto fotografico “Anche dopo l’ultimo getto”.

In omaggio ai pensatori surrealisti, rovistando nell’inconscio, i sogni di ognuno si sono mescolati con quelli degli altri, così anche la luce e le ombre hanno iniziato a giocare scardinando i piani, rovesciando gli orizzonti, alla ricerca inesauribile di immaginifiche realtà.

“Sta a noi dunque cercare di discernere sempre più ciò che si trama all’insaputa dell’essere nel profondo del suo spirito.[…] La rivoluzione di un cadavere e i suoi amici. […] Ricordiamoci che l’idea di surrealismo tende semplicemente al recupero totale della nostra forza psichica, con un mezzo che non è altro se non la discesa vertiginosa in noi stessi. […] Quest’estate le rose sono azzurre e il bosco è vetro.”*

S’Umbra è un’associazione culturale, fondata da Carlo Cioglia e Luisa Siddi nel maggio del 2006, che offre spazi, strumenti e occasioni di dibattito e confronto sui temi della fotografia e delle arti visive, nella consapevolezza che possano essere strumenti di animazione sociale e di stimolo creativo individuale.

L’associazione sceglie nella formazione un approccio alla fotografia come linguaggio, colto e sintetico, fruibile nei vari piani di significato. L’interazione collettiva, anche attraverso l’approccio tattile, materico e artigianale della fotografia analogica è sempre un momento fondante nel nostro percorso formativo. Da otto anni ci muoviamo nel confine sottile tra vista e visione, insieme e a chi vuol percorrere, in compagnia, questi frangenti imparando a fare e immaginare.
La Galleria offre uno spazio espositivo dedicato alla fotografia e alle arti visive per stimolare un confronto diretto, informale e vivace tra autori affermati ed esordienti, provenienti da diverse realtà e paesi. Dalla sua nascita ad oggi S’umbra ha ospitato più di 50 artisti.

Per chi volesse avere delle informazioni sui workshop estivi e i corsi invernali, i docenti dell’associazione saranno presenti all’inaugurazione.

Ninety years after the first edition of the Manifesto of Surrealism by André Breton, the photography school of the Cultural S’umbra dedicated to deepening the theoretical course, to thought, to the exercises of style, techniques and lived surrealist.
Once you have acquired the theoretical foundations of the history of photography and the photographic language, and after enjoying the practice of recovery and development and printing in the darkroom, students have experienced the collage, automatic writing, stories of dreams, rayograms , les promenades surréalistes, and lost in the city, offering at the end of this process the photographic project “Even after the last cast.”

In homage to the surrealist thinkers, poking around in the unconscious and dreams of each are mixed with those of others, so the light and the shadows began to play breaking up the floors, knocking over the horizon in search of endless imaginative reality.

“We must therefore try to discern more and more what you plot the knowledge of being in the depths of his spirit. […] The revolution of a corpse and his friends. S’Umbra is a cultural association founded by Charles and Louise Cioglia Siddi in May 2006, which provides space, tools, and opportunities for debate and discussion on topics of photography and visual arts, in the knowledge that they can be instruments of social animation and stimulate creative individual.

The association chooses a training approach to photography as a language, read and concise, usable in various levels of meaning. The collective interaction, including through the tactile approach, material and craftsmanship of analog photography is always a foundational moment in our curriculum. For eight years we move into the fine line between sight and vision, and those who want to travel together, together, learning to make these situations and imagine.
The Gallery offers an exhibition space dedicated to photography and the visual arts to stimulate a direct comparison between informal and lively established authors and newcomers from different countries and reality. From its inception to today S’umbra has hosted more than 50 artists.
