“Alti & Bassi” è per prima cosa una sfida. Quella di riuscire a fare musica con gli unici mezzi di cui una cantante e un bassista possono disporre: quattro corde, una voce, e niente altro. Ogni arrangiamento è per forza di cose ottenuto per sottrazione, e tolti tutti i fronzoli, quello che resta è melodia, basse frequenze, accenti e silenzi. Una scelta radicale che riduce ogni brano al suo scheletro armonico e ritmico, ma che crea un sound che è già di per sé arrangiamento.
“Alti & Bassi” è però anche un levarsi lo sfizio di liofilizzare nella formula “voice’n’bass”qualunque pezzo ci vada di suonare, senza nessun condizionamento di genere, autore, periodo. Ecco perché il repertorio abbraccia il brit-pop e l’R’nB, passando per il funky e la melodia italiana.
Infine, “Alti & Bassi” è un continuo esperimento. Che serve a scoprire cosa succede mescolando in parti uguali le retrovie del palco e la ribalta, il ruolo solista per eccellenza con il più gregario tra gli strumenti, e togliendo tutto quello che c’è in mezzo.

To be able to make music with the only means of which a singer and a bass player can have: four strings, a voice, and nothing else. Each arrangement is inevitably obtained by subtraction, and taken away all the frills, what remains is the melody, bass, accents and silences. A radical choice that reduces each song to its harmonic and rhythmic skeleton, but that creates a sound that is already arranging.
“Tops & Bottoms” is, however, a rise in the whim of freeze-dry formula “voice’n’bass” whatever piece we go to play, with no conditioning of genre, author, period. That’s why the repertoire embraces the brit-pop and R’nB, through the funky melody and Italian.
Finally, “Tops & Bottoms” is a continuous experiment. You need to find out what happens mixing equal parts of the rear of the stage and the limelight, the role of soloist par excellence with the most gregarious among the instruments, and removing everything in between.
