ALLA SCOPERTA DELLA CITTA’ SEGRETA – CAGLIARI – 27 SETTEMBRE-19 OTTOBRE 2013DISCOVERING SECRET CITY – CAGLIARI – SEPTEMBER 27 TO OCTOBER 19

Favorire i cittadini e i turisti a conoscere da vicino i monumenti della città, visitando le sue bellezze sotterranee scavate nella roccia: necropoli antiche, laghi sotterranei, chiese rupestri, ossari, prigioni, cisterne e passaggi segreti.

E’ l’obiettivo del corso dedicato a Cagliari sotterranea, ideato dal Gruppo Cavità Cagliaritane fondato vent’anni fa nel 1993, con al suo attivo centinaia di esplorazioni e decine di pubblicazioni in materia, battendosi contro la cementificazione e l’occultamento delle radici storiche della “città del sole”.

Una ricorrenza, il ventennale del GCC, che verrà onorata la settimana prossima, da lunedì, con un ciclo di serate interamente dedicate a Cagliari sotterranea e che si terranno nel Teatro di Sant’Eulalia.

L’evento prevede 4 incontri serali infrasettimanali con videoproiezioni e 4 uscite, nei weekend, nelle più suggestive cavità sotterranee della città.

Coadiuvati dagli esploratori delle associazioni Sardegna Sotterranea e Turisti per
Cagliari, storici ed esperti accompagneranno il pubblico “Alla scoperta della Cagliari sotterranea”.
I docenti faranno vivere ai partecipanti grandi emozioni, illustrando la storia antica e straordinaria della città del sole, ma raffrontandola alla storia della sua gemella
sotterranea, scavata nella roccia, con strade sepolte e complessi monumentali.

Si andrà sotto le chiese dei quartieri storici, i palazzi, le piazze e verranno aperti al pubblico (a numero ridotto) ambienti estesi centinaia di metri, labirintici, antichi cimiteri,
necropoli millenarie. Insomma, un vero salto nella storia, che durerà tre settimane tra  uscite e videoproiezioni in sala.

L’evento è a numero chiuso e si preannuncia un connubio tra storia, mistero, scienza
con la visita ai sotterranei di Sant’Agostino, Sant’Eulalia, Santo Sepolcro, sotterranei di Palabanda, ipogei del Castel di Castro, ospedali di guerra e tanto altro ancora.

Sarà l’occasione per presentare anche lo stato degli studi ad oggi svolti nei sotterranei della città, ma anche l’iniziativa “Sentinelle del sottosuolo”, composta da speleologi che, osservando lo stato dell’arte delle monumentali cavità sotterranee, scriverà resoconti puntuali alle istituzioni.

A recurrence, the twentieth anniversary of the GCC, which will be honored next week , from Monday , with a series of evenings devoted entirely to Cagliari underground which will be held in the Theatre of St. Eulalia .

The event will include four evening meetings a week with video projections and 4 outputs, on weekends , in the most beautiful underground caverns of the city.

Aided by the explorers of the associations Sardinia Underground and Tourists
Cagliari , historians and experts will guide the audience “Discovering the Cagliari underground .”
The teachers will live great emotions to the participants , illustrating the ancient history and extraordinary city of the sun, but compare it to the story of his sister
underground , carved into the rock , with roads buried , and historic buildings .

It will go under the churches of the historic districts , palaces , squares and will be open to the public (a small number ) large environments hundred meters , labyrinthine , ancient cemeteries ,
ancient necropolis . In short, a real leap in history, which will last three weeks between outputs and video projections in the room.

The event is limited and promises to be a blend of history , mystery, science
with a visit to the basement of St. Augustine, St. Eulalia, Holy Sepulchre, underground Palabanda , tombs of Castel di Castro , hospitals of war and much more.

It will be also the occasion to present the status of the studies carried out to date in the basement of the city, but also the initiative ” Sentinels of the subsoil “, composed by cavers , observing the state of the monumental underground cavities , write reports on time at institutions.
