ALIG’ART 2012 FESTIVAL – CAGLIARI – 19 TO 28 OCTOBER

The festival, this year in its third year, will be dedicated to Burkinabè statesman Thomas Sankara was assassinated in 1987. Starting with reflections on his actions and the famous speeches, the Festival will explore the difficult issue of change of a social and economic system through a path in order to reach a critical awareness and responsible. It is also believed that these issues must be addressed with the clarity of a project and in depth.
The words of Sankara in fact offer a starting point for the development of a socio-cultural project aimed at the rehabilitation and enhancement of local identities, the sustainable management of material resources and intellectual impoverishment of knowledge and against the loss of individual creative abilities. The environmental, social, re-evaluation of traditional practices, protection of indigenous products and the move towards local consumption pursued in the four years of government Sankara, coincide with some of the key points of the current proposals for change: the virtuous practices promoted by government forward-looking, the movement for the decrease, the transition towns, which, in this view, are one of the possible examples of innovation, technological innovation, which on the proper evaluation of a millenary tradition.
