Fifty-one years have passed, already more than half a century, from the May 19, 1961, inauguration date of the first edition of the Fair Carpet of Mogo.
That year and over 51 years, Mogo was the first major showcase of artistic and traditional Sardinian and promoter of undisputed products of excellence.
A festival created to promote the craft of Mogo, represented by the industrious women who made the frame with tissue essential to the needs of the house: the sacks of grain, for linens, clothing, saddle bags, sheets and tablecloths. But that is dedicated, with a keen sense of creativity, even to weave the beautiful tapestry of Mogo. Rich tapestry of romantic and varied harmonies, embellished by the signs of tradition which is expressed in floral arrangements. The rose, a metaphor for femininity, the peony, a symbol of wealth, the tulip, a symbol of perfect love. But even with significant references to the plant world, like the branches of the vine with the grapes, the oak and the acorns that recall symbols of fertility, abundance, of immortality, of manhood. Or the references to the animal world: horses and eagles, unicorns and doves embodiment of strength, nobility and messages of positivity for life.
