Falls in 2012, the centenary of the birth of John Cage, remembered all over the world by hundreds of festivals, concerts, celebrations, conferences and lectures. An interest that shows not only the contribution of Cage music, art, poetry, politics and aesthetics of the twentieth century, but also the importance of his contribution to the development of each of these fields of research. With the aim of celebrating and honoring effectively the figure and work of American composer, the Association of Musical Meetings organized for the season Sonus de Atongiu Festival “Imaginary Landscapes – John Cage centenary of his birth,” a week of concerts which runs from 30 August to 5 September and faces a repertoire of over 50 years of production of the famous composer.

The festival includes 11 concerts in the repertoire of John Cage and other contemporary authors intended for percussion ensemble, prepared piano, instrumental groups which include the use of voice, projects and electroacoustic duo. After the presentation THURSDAY ‘Aug. 30 in the Conference Room Regional Nature Park Molentargius Saline at 11 am, the Festival comes alive at 21 with the Talujon Percussion Group of New York (composed by David Cossin, Dominic Donato, Michael Lipsey, Tom Color, with the participation of Modular Quartet), which eseguià some of the most famous pieces by John Cage: 2nd Construction; Cartridge Music (1960), Variations 1, But What About the Noise of Crumpling paper (1985), Music for Radio 8 FM Station . In the following days, with two concerts a day (which will be held at 21 and 22) will alternate the Talujon Percussion Group, Silvia Corda, the duo Andrea and Charles Desogus Pusceddu, the duo Alessandra Giuralongo and Deborah Walker, the duo Michele Francesco Sanna and Ciminiello, Project Spaziomusica, Spaziomusica Ensemble, Elettroflebo and Carlo Boccadoro, ending on 5 September with the Modular Piano Quartet.
