Saturday, September 8, 2012 at the Teatro Lirico di Cagliari is held the second edition of the festival’s Likes Richard Strauss?, An interesting study day and listen to music entirely dedicated to the great German composer (Monaco of Bavaria, 1864 – Garmisch-Partenkirchen, 1949)

The event, conceived and organized by the “Der Rosenkavalier”, in collaboration with the “Richard-Strauss-Institut” and the Teatro Lirico, has two distinct events: a prologue, to 17 in the foyer of the theater, and a concert , at 21 in the large hall of the Opera House.

The prologue is a meeting, preliminary hearing in the evening, with Gérard Korsten, former music director of the Teatro Lirico di Cagliari, musicologist and Myriam Quaquero “Richard-Strauss-Institut”, during which you will perform the Sonata for cello (Andrea Pettinau cello, piano Francesca Charter) and the Sonata for violin, transcribed for flute by Emmanuel Pahud, (Massimiliano Loi, graduate student in flute at the Conservatory of Music “Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina” of Cagliari, and Rosabianca Rachel at the piano).

In concert with the ensemble performs 21 “Do you like Richard Strauss?” Musical training consists, for the most part, professors of the Teatro Lirico, conducted by Gerard Korsten. In the role of soloists: soprano Eva Mei and pianist Francesca Charter.
The musical program, of course, entirely dedicated to Richard Strauss, provides: Sextet from the opera Capriccio, Op. 85; Allerseelen. Op 10, n. 8; Muttertändelei. Op 43, n. 2, Die Nacht. Op.10, n. 3; Ständchen. Op .17, n. 2, Kling! Op 48, n. 3; Ich Wollte ein Sträuslein binden. Op 68, n. 2, Amor. Op 68, n. 5, Metamorphosen, study for 23 solo strings, o.Op. 142 (TRV 290).
