Sedici band, tra cui formazioni del calibro di Africa Unite, A Toys Orchestra, Linea 77 e Teatro degli Orrori; trenta ore di musica dal vivo, un seguito di oltre ottomila presenze totali, decine di servizi giornalistici, un giro economico di oltre centomila euro. Questo il bilancio essenziale di quattro edizioni del ‘DU – Bauladu Music Festival, uno degli eventi più attesi, ormai, dal pubblico giovanile nel panorama dell’estate musicale in Sardegna.

Sull’onda di un crescente successo, l’appuntamento a Bauladu, il paese in provincia di Oristano strategicamente a metà strada tra Cagliari e Sassari, giunge al traguardo della sua quinta edizione fra conferme e novità significative: su tutte, la durata che raddoppia. E dunque saranno due lunghe e intense serate quelle in calendario nel secondo weekend di luglio, venerdì 12 e sabato 13, con undici set distribuiti in tre diverse location per altrettante fasce orarie: l’extra stage nel centro storico del paese, per le esibizioni unplugged in scaletta nel tardo pomeriggio, alle 18:30; il main stage, il palco principale per i live della fascia serale (partire dalle 21:30), allestito all’anfiteatro comunale, negli oltre 12.000 mq di verde del parco di San Lorenzo, dove trova la sua collocazione anche lo spazio after stage consacrato ai dopoconcerto.

Tra gli ospiti più attesi Marlene Kuntz, Salmo, Sick Tamburo e LNRipley, ma non mancherà il giusto spazio per la scena musicale isolana con Raw Rave Groove, Plasma Expander, Beeside, Grandmother Safari, Sugubambu e con i dj set del Blueroom Collective e di ARPxp + Maurs, a comporre un cartellone variegato per generi e stili, sonorità e atmosfere.

Ideata e realizzata dalla Consulta Giovani Bauladu e prodotta dalla Vox Day Concerti di Cagliari, la quinta edizione del ‘DU Festival si avvale del contributo della Regione Autonoma della Sardegna (Assessorato della Pubblica Istruzione, Beni Culturali, Informazione, Spettacolo e Sport) e del Comune di Bauladu, con la collaborazione di Punto Oro, Famiglia Orro, Lollove Magazine, Associazione Carta Giovani, Ferrovie dello Stato, Ente Foreste della Sardegna, ASA Srl, Sustainable Happiness e Passaggio Sardegna.

Raw Rave Groove

Al via venerdì 12

Si parte venerdì 12 alle 18.30 con due performance nel centro storico di Bauladu (via Antonio Gramsci). Inaugura Beeside (al secolo Federico Pazzona, classe 1980), cantautore sassarese che ha debuttato nel 2012 su disco con “Mood Spirals”, uscito per l’etichetta indipendente Seahorse. Un progetto per voce e chitarra che si muove con freschezza fra canzone d’autore e folk di matrice inglese. Sardi anche i protagonisti del successivo appuntamento, i Grandmother Safari, band cagliaritana che vede in scena Daniele Arca alla batteria, Omar Cappai alla chitarra, Alessandro Colarossi alla Tromba e synth, Mario Mereu al piano e synth e Federico Mainardi al basso, con sonorità che spaziano tra rock, psichedelia, prog e atmosfere jazz.

Alle 21.30 si accendono i riflettori sul main stage all’anfiteatro comunale di Bauladu: aprono le danze gli oristanesi Raw Rave Groove, formazione psychedelic-rock con all’attivo un singolo dal titolo “Ride/Like a Virgin in a Chapel” (Here I Stay Records, 2010) e un EP uscito con lo pseudonimo di Dead Hipsters (On2Sides Records, 2012).

Con il secondo set si entra nel vivo della serata, scaldata dall’elettrizzante atmosfera new-punk dei Sick Tamburo , che vedono ancora una volta insieme Gian Maria Accusani (chitarra e voce) e Elisabetta Imelio (voce), alias Mr.Man e Boom Girl, entrambi reduci da una decennale militanza nei Prozac+. Nati nel 2007, i Sick Tamburo hanno pubblicato per La Tempesta Dischi il primo album omonimo nel 2009, seguito nel 2011 dal più melodico A.I.U.T.O., e, nel 2012, dall’EP La mia mano sola, la cui parte grafica e video è curata da Davide Toffolo (del gruppo Tre Allegri Ragazzi Morti) .

A coronare la serata sul palco centrale, l’atteso ritorno dei Marlene Kuntz, nome di spicco del panorama rock indipendente italiano, sulle scene da oltre vent’anni con nove album all’attivo: l’ultimo, “Canzoni per un figlio”, è uscito nel febbraio 2012. In scena Cristiano Godano (voce e chitarra), Riccardo Tesio alla chitarra, Luca Bergia alla batteria e Lagash al basso.

Dopo il concerto (oltre la mezzanotte), la musica continua nello spazio after stage del Parco San Lorenzo con il dj set del Blueroom Collective, progetto di base a Oristano.

Il programma di sabato 13

Sulla falsariga della prima serata si articola anche il palinsesto di sabato 13. Si comincia alle 18:30, dunque, con lo street show nel centro storico dei Sugubambu, brass band sarda di sette elementi che spazia nel folk e nelle musiche tradizionali di tutto il mondo, senza confini.

Sarda è anche la formazione che alle 21:30 apre il trittico di concerti sul palco centrale dell’anfiteatro: i Plasma Expander di Fabio Cerina (chitarra), Corrado Loi (basso, samples e synth) e Andrea Siddu (batteria). Attivo dal 2005, il trio cagliaritano ha licenziato lo scorso marzo il suo terzo album, “Cube”, un lavoro maturo che testimonia bene l’energia un gruppo difficile da etichettare e che trova la sua migliore espressione dal vivo.

Energia pura è quanto promette anche il set di LNRipley, altra formazione che sa dare il meglio di sé sul palco, contaminando drum’n’bass e dubstep con punk, metal e musica elettronica. Velocità e pulsazioni da rave, un approccio lo-fi e deciso agli strumenti e un frontman trascinante, fanno dei live del quintetto in arrivo da Torino quanto di più lontano dal classico concerto: un flusso di adrenalina, tutta da ballare.

Ancora a un artista sardo (di Olbia, in questo caso), ma ormai di stanza a Milano, spetta il compito di calare il sipario sul palco centrale del quinto ‘Du Festival: Maurizio Pisciottu, in arte Salmo, il rapper del momento, come testimoniano oltre 26 milioni di visualizzazioni (dati dello scorso marzo) sul suo canale YouTube ufficiale, e il successo del suo nuovo disco, “Midnite” che una settimana dopo l’uscita, il 2 aprile, ha raggiunto il primo posto tra gli album più venduti in Italia. Merito del personale modo di intendere il rap dell’artista gallurese, memore dei suoi trascorsi negli ambienti metal, punk-rock e hardcore: un retaggio che si coglie anche nell’attività live di Salmo, che sul palco, a contatto col pubblico, trova la sua naturale e autentica dimensione.

L’ultimo impegno per il quinto ‘Du Festival è nello spazio after show con il dj set dei cagliaritani ARPxp e Maurs, una delle più importanti realtà della bass music, sia in ambito drum’n’bass che dubstep.

I biglietti per ciascuna serata si possono acquistare a 12 euro (più 2 euro di diritti prevendita) online su www.vivaticket.it e sul circuito BoxOffice (tel. 070657428) sul territorio regionale nelle prevendite di Cagliari, Carbonia, Alghero, Macomer, Olbia, Oristano, Sassari, Nuoro, Tortolì e Villacidro. In questo caso, ai 12 euro del biglietto andranno aggiunti 2,40 euro di diritti di prevendita. Green Festival e ‘Du Factory

Dopo il positivo debutto dell’anno scorso, insieme alla musica ritorna il Green Festival, un progetto di sensibilizzazione ai temi del risparmio energetico, dell’uso delle energie alternative, della differenziazione dei rifiuti e dell’abbattimento delle emissioni di CO2. Con la collaborazione del Comune di Bauladu, dell’Ente Foreste della Sardegna, dell’Azienda Speciale Ambiente (ASA Srl) e di Passaggiosardegna.it, l’iniziativa mette in campo una serie di azioni volte a limitare l’impatto del festival sul territorio e a creare una maggiore consapevolezza sulle questioni dell’ambiente e della sostenibilità: il posizionamento di isole ecologiche per la raccolta differenziata dei rifiuti, la piantumazione di cento alberi di leccio e sughera per compensare le emissioni di anidride carbonica associate ai consumi del festival, l’attivazione di un servizio di carpooling, la diffusione di promemoria destinati agli ospiti delle strutture ricettive del paese che suggeriscono buone pratiche nei comportamenti indoor e outdoor.

E’ invece un’importante novità di quest’anno la nascita del progetto ‘Du Factory, un incubatore per la creatività giovanile che si struttura in tre principali settori: uno di formazione, che prevede l’organizzazione di workshop e l’attivazione di percorsi di acquisizione di competenze sul tema delle professioni legate al mondo della cultura e dello spettacolo, nonché la locazione di spazi attrezzati per la progettazione culturale condivisa (coworking); uno di erogazione di servizi connessi all’industria musicale (attività di booking, ufficio stampa, direzioni tecniche e artistiche); un altro finalizzato alla gestione di spazi (auditorium comunale) per l’ideazione, la produzione e la realizzazione di eventi culturali.

Altra novità: grazie alla collaborazione delle Ferrovie dello Stato, in occasione del festival alcuni treni effettueranno fermate straordinarie alla stazione di Bauladu, che è chiusa ormai da una quindicina d’anni e verrà aperta solo per questo evento.

Sixteen bands, including formations such as Africa Unite, A Toys Orchestra, Line 77 and Little Shop of Horrors; thirty hours of live music, a result of more than eight thousand total attendance, dozens of news reports, an economic tour of over one hundred thousand euro . This is the balance of essential four editions of the ‘DU – Baulds Music Festival, one of the most anticipated events, now, from the youth audience in the panorama of the musical summer in Sardinia.

In the wake of a growing success, the appointment to Baulds, the village in the province of Oristano strategically halfway between Cagliari and Sassari, reaches the finish of its fifth edition between confirmations and significant changes: first of all, that doubles the duration. And therefore there will be two long and intense evenings in the calendar on the second weekend of July, Friday 12 and Saturday 13, September 11 with distributed in three different locations for as many time slots: the extra stages in the historical center of the country, unplugged performances in the lineup late in the afternoon, at 18:30, the main stage, the main stage for the live band evening (from 21:30), set up municipal amphitheater, in the more than 12,000 square meters of green park of San Lorenzo, where it finds its place even after the space devoted to the internship after festival.

Designed and developed by the Advisory Baulds Young and produced by Vox Day Concerts of Cagliari, the fifth edition of ‘DU Festival relies on the contributions of the Autonomous Region of Sardinia (Department of Education, Culture, Information, Entertainment and Sports) and the City of Baulds, in collaboration with Punto Oro, Family Orro, Lollove Magazine, Youth Card Association, the State Railways, Forestry Agency of Sardinia, ASA Srl, Sustainable Happiness and Step Sardinia.

At the start of Friday 12

It starts on Friday 12th at 18.30 with two performances in the center of Baulds (via Antonio Gramsci). Opens Beeside (nee Federico Pazzona, born in 1980), singer-songwriter sassarese which debuted in 2012 on disc with “Mood Spirals”, released on the independent label Seahorse. A project for voice and guitar that moves with freshness between songwriters and folk master English. At 21.30 the spotlight on the main stage amphitheater municipal Baulds: open dancing the Oristano Raw Rave Groove, training psychedelic-rock assets with a single titled “Ride / Like a Virgin in the Chapel” (Here I Stay Records, 2010) and an EP released under the name of Dead Hipsters (On2Sides Records, 2012).

With the second set comes alive in the evening, heated atmosphere dall’elettrizzante new-punk Sick Tamburo, who see once again along with Gian Maria Accusani (guitar and vocals) and Elizabeth Imelio (vocals), alias Mr.Man and Boom Girl, both recovering from a decade-long militancy in Prozac. Born in 2007, Sick Tamburo published for The Tempest discs the first self-titled album in 2009, followed in 2011 by the more melodic HELP, and, in 2012, from the EP My hand alone, where the graphics and video is edited by Davide Toffolo (group Dropkick Murphys).

To cap off the evening on the main stage, the expected return of Marlene Kuntz, a leading name in the Italian independent rock scene, on the scene for over twenty years, with nine albums to date: the last, “Songs for a son,” was released in February 2012. On stage Cristiano Godano (vocals and guitar), Riccardo Tesio on guitar, drums and Luca Bergia Lagash on bass.

After the concert (after midnight), the music continues in space after placement of the San Lorenzo Park with a DJ set of Blueroom Collective, a project based in Oristano.

Saturday’s program 13

Along the lines of the first evening was also connected the schedule on Saturday, 13. It begins at 18:30, then, with the street show in the historic center of Sugubambu, brass band Sardinian seven elements ranging in folk and traditional music from around the world, without boundaries.

Green Festival and ‘Du Factory

After the successful debut last year, along with the music returns to the Green Festival, a project to raise awareness to the issues of energy conservation, use of alternative energy, the separation of waste and reducing emissions of CO2.
