The ARC Cultural Association organizes in Cagliari, now nine years old, the film festival themed GLBT (Gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender) “A Look Normal”, which will arrive in 2012 in its tenth edition. For this reason the Association, together with the Circle Cinema ARCinema (Member of FICC – Italian Federation of Film Societies) and the Association Student universitARC, thanks to the contributions of the City of Cagliari and ERSU – Regional Agency for the Right to Education, and the collaboration of the Humane Society – Cineteca Sardinia Cagliari and FICC – Italian Federation of Film Societies, decided to make the film festival in a small eXpo, which incorporates both a collection of feature films, a real competition, Sardinia Queer Short Film Festival, dedicated specifically to national and international short films theme lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and, in a word, queer.

A Look Normal is proposed so again this year – as it has been since its first edition in 2002 – to raise awareness throughout society, through the universal medium of cinema, the obvious differences on issues of sexual orientation and identity gender, and the need to achieve equal civil rights for all. Especially in recent years, dramatically marked in our country as uncivilized acts of aggression and violence against homosexuals and transgenders, and un’ormai chronic inability of politics to take effective legislative instruments is against violence and in favor of the recognition of the rights The ARC is a need to mobilize and make their voice against this resurgence of homophobia, racism and xenophobia in Italy, according to their character and their own experience of cultural association, the student association and the circle of cinema.

USN | Expo is divided into two main parts:

USN | Pride: a review shorter than four screenings were held in June, during which they were proposed four films that tell the story of the grass-and GLBT activism and queer, included in the program of Queeresima 2012 (forty days of initiatives ranging from the International Day Against Homophobia at Pride);
USN | Festival: six days from Monday, November 26 to Saturday 1 December 2012, which will include as a six screenings of films (domestic and international) products in recent years and the competition is open to all short films (national and international ) will participate in the announcement.
