Obliquity is a project started in September by a ‘idea of Gianrico missing and Stefano D’Anna with the intention of creating music that explores in a knowledgeable and profound innovations of modern polyrhythm associating them with a discourse harmonious melody that descends from the great history of jazz and Afro-American music.
Obliquity follows the direction that emerges from the scene’s most innovative New Yorker (Chris Potter, Greg Ward, Mark Turner, Ambrose Akinmusire, Dave Binney), combining experimentation with fundamental lesson of tradition, without pretensions of imitation.
