Liberamente ispirato al capolavoro Kubrickiano, “2001: Odissea nello spazio”, il concerto è un viaggio musicale ideato dal contrabbassista Matteo Muntoni tra novembre 2010 e febbraio 2011: il quartetto – completato da Valter Mascia al sax soprano, Gianluca Piras”>Nobody in K space> Loosely based on Kubrick-esque masterpiece, “2001: A Space Odyssey”, the concert is a musical conceived by bassist Matthew Muntoni between November 2010 and February 2011: the quartet – completed by Valter Mascia on soprano sax, Gianluca Piras on electric bass and live electronics, Antonio Pinna on drums and percussion – outlines soundscapes that conjure up the most representative images of the film – but always avoiding the operation didactic – and, moving between composition, experimentation, radical improvisation, electronic music and minimal, evokes images sidereal and hypnotic atmosphere of the film.
The continuous musical research implementation musicians highlights the evolution of man according to the introverted and complex vision of the director.
The concert is therefore divided into three parts:
1. Earth: A) Beginning – B) Something else – C) Versus
2. Moon: A) The Journey – B) Monolith
3. Jupiter: A) Beyond infinity – B) Hal 9000 – C) Jupiter mission – D) Starchild
